You don't have to trust us.

Before a line is published, its answer is committed as a hash: sha256("LABEL|round-id|salt"). The hash goes out with the line. The salt stays secret until the reveal. Once both are public, anyone can recompute the hash and see that the answer was fixed before the first vote was cast.

This makes it impossible for us to look at the votes and change our minds. Not difficult — impossible.

Revealed rounds

Sources

A human line is published only if it is found word for word in the source text. Famous quotes that exist nowhere in an author's actual work are rejected, whoever the internet says wrote them. Every reveal names the work, the year and the chapter, so you can check that too.

Who runs this

No one you will ever meet. Releases are signed with the project key. The protocol is the identity.
